A bit of history for collectors of fire memorabilia
« on: May 14, 2009, 02:48:07 PM »
I was doing an FRA on a vacant department store today and in an obscure part of the building found a set of shelves with nearly 50 Nu Swift E85 Wet Water charges for Nu Swift Model E1301 Universal (Royal Navy) Water extinguishers sealed in their original Nu Swift card boxes, plus several of the wall brackets for hanging the same.

Although over 30 years old they are in as new condition and a rare find, presumably from the days it was the Redgates Children's toy shop with it's own maintenance department.

I'm going back to sort out the extinguishers in general and remove these charges - althoug hsome will go into my own museum collection I don't need all of them!

So if anyone with connections to a collection or fire museum near them wants any they can have some free gratis as I'm loathe to bin them all.

Link to first page of E85 leaflet for illustration;

As always if anyone comes across old literature/sales material relating to extinguishers up to the early 90's it would be appreciate if it could come my way!
