i have found out something interesting about that school, your right it doesnt have a fire alarm.. but they still have an old halon system covering the corridor, so no-one will get burnt

Are you sure about the Halon system?  That sounds very weird. Halon in a corridor??  Why??

Also, yes, the picture shows what looks like a potentially dodgy situation but I think everyone's jumping to condemn very quickly here.  We know nothing of the layout or precise use of the premises.  I would urge everyone to always reserve judgement until all the facts are known.

Did you read the description at the top of the picture, infants school, tissue paper hanging from the walls and ceiling, 230v filament lamps behind the tissue paper.

Young children, very flammable material, ignition source = very bad

The reason I was on site was to survey for a fire alarm system, there is no halon, in fact the only thing worse than putting a halon system in a corridor with young children would be covering it with tissue pa................

If I wanted to be really mean i'd put a Methyl Bromide system in, not halon. After all I've found extinguishers in schools old enough to date back to the days of MB (mainly due to the expert skill of the FB maintenance department.... )
