This was found in an infants school, no fire alarm, what you cant see are the 230v fairy lights on extension leads fixed to the wall, you cant see them as they are covered with more paper tissue, 1/2 way along is the door to the library.

Horror of horrors. Is there another way out of the library?

Enforcement Notice at least, consideration of Prohibition (if it had been the only way out definitely).

If my child went to that school they wouldn't be going in that part of the building until it was removed and I'd be kicking up a stink to get an FRS I/O down there.

More shades of Stardust with that lot.

If I were you I'd call that one in & not just post it here, in fact I would now if I knew where it was!

I take it that they are filament lamps and not LED's?

Time and money permitting I'd recreate that corridor in a field and invite all the heads in the county to watch how quick it would go up.... silly sods.

or put the 'heads' in the field and leave them there. Safely more out touch than normal.

It is obvious that whoever covered the walls with that material had no idea about fire safety at all and thats without considering the method of fire system ( which is woefully inadequate and illegal ) ie mains manual fire system.
Some people seem to have no idea at all about fire safety or any other type of health and safety come to think of it....which reminds me of a saying.......

Yet another case of trying to save money and blatentley disregarding peoples lives at the same time.

The problem with common sense is that its not that common.

hmm i guess they could also chuck in a bit of petrol and a log fire in the middle to make the scene more complete

i defo wouldnt want to have to use that corridor if something ignited it

I'd put the heads on stakes in the Tower of London

Smoke Monkey, According to GregC there is no fire alarm at all.

Anyway, I think the material is probably made from asbestos and the fairy lights are low voltage LED versions with the mains supply to the double insulated low temperature transformer protected by a RCD. Also the walls of the corridor will slide seemlessly underground (allowing direct acces to free) if the fire detection system detects fire(Greg said there was no fire alarm not that there was no fire detection)

Sorry, I take all my above flippant remarks back. It's just that I'm still smarting about the extra work that GregC created for me by coding XP95 call points wrongly back in the year 2000! Bear a grudge? who me?
