Don't forget water mist, which Pyrene was using for kitchen range supression in the 70's and is a viable alternative to Wet Chemical (or BC Powder in the days of the Pyrene system)

Mushy, just ensure the installer is not a subbie for your providor, chasing problems following install can be problematic as their priority is the next job not previous installs. Make sure your providor is using "his" own engineers.
(Both Ansul and Amerex use a limited number of UK registered distributors - check for up to date registration and certification of both providor and engineers virified from the manufacturor Ansul/Amerex for example. All have to carry a copy so it won't be an issue.

I'd contact Ultra Suppression Systems in Bucks, they deal with water mist but i understand approved installer of the Ansul R102 system.
I organised a CPD event recently where they gladly came along and presented a session on such systems.

That's because that is where Wormalds base was (who Tyco absorbed a few years back).

There are far more people who do the Ansul kit, Tyco are listed as the trade importer/distributor as they elected not to have an Ansul UK spin-off, but they sell to a range of authorised dealers including:

Well if we're gonna name names!
Our lot Chubb Fire (East Midlands) Mechanical Dept (H/O Windsor 01753 833844 mechanical@chubb.co.uk) provide a genuine nationwide service (Install, Maintenance, Call Outs).

I would get a few quotes first and talk to major companies (i.e. end users) before placing your expensive order. There's a few companies out there whose install work gets faulted by more reputable co's. at a later date when a new service company checks the systems. But its difficult then to get recourse.

If the install lads don't have a copy of the latest Ansul R102 specs with them, then don't let them through your door as they won't be installing to UL300.

It's a bit Ironic a UTC company has to put in a Tyco product, then again for several years Tyco put in UTC group company extinguishers (Gloria).

Very good point about the quality of install - the fixed systems have to be carefully engineered and installed to be effective it not just a case of randomly chucking in pipes & nozzles....
