A row over a firestation which burnt down will go to court.
Arundel Fire Station was destroyed in October 2006 and fire bosses were left red-faced when it emerged the building had no smoke alarms.
But West Sussex County Council have confirmed their insurers Zurich are suing Antares Europe for damages of more than £550,000.
They claim the firm, who supplied a battery charger which allegedy started the blaze, breached their duty of care and are guilty of negligent misrepresentation.
The council is also seeking an indemnity for any damages it may be liable to pay ambulance worker Anne Myhill, who allegedly suffered smoke inhalation in the incident.
The case will go before London’s High Court in January.
