Poll : Compulsory Certification Scheme for Risk Assessors

As an addition to Kurnal's original thread, I've decided to create a poll for the proposed compulsory assessor registration scheme.

It will allow us to see at a glance the general feeling about the proposal, and the balance of those in favour and those who aren't. It is an anonymous poll.

Discussion about the issue should be kept in Kurnal's thread which can be found here:- http://www.kingfell.com/~forum/index.php?topic=4573.0.

Could I just ask, Retty, would you agree that the 'no' vote and the 'self regulated' vote amount to the same thing (in practice) and so should be added together when interpreting the numbers of responses?

Hi Stu yes absolutely, Ive managed to over complicate the poll by adding the comment about self regulation.

I was trying to show the difference between those whom are against cumpulsory certification and feel the industry should be self regulating without Government interference as oppossed those who may object for other reasons. In the end theyre both saying "NO" so it makes no odds.

I'm surprised that the majority, so far, have voted YES without knowing what the provisos are?
We're not Brazil we're Northern Ireland.

Would this be for fire risk assessments or also all health and safety risk assessments?

Fire Risk Assessments, in the health and safety sector there seems to be more of a structured approach to training and competency (i.e NEBOSH General Cert for example) - see Kurnals original post for more info, particularly his latest post on the thread.
