Sprinklers to Temporary Accommodation

Has anyone heard of a move to provide sprinkler/ suppression protection to temporary accommodation i.e Portacabins?

I recall when I was working on sprinklers some years ago that someone had produced a portable 'pack' that could be placed in 'Portacabin' type structures - basically a pressurised water tank and pipework. Can't remember who did it - idea was that it not only protected the interior but reduced possibility of the cabin being a source of fire to any adjacent building.

The London Assembly Report on fire in Tall and Timber Framed Buildings suggested that construction sites could be fitted with temporary sprinklers. Now that I'd like to see..........

I thinkthat several years ago Liverpool Fire Brigade were supporting the development of a stand alone sprinkler resembling a standard lamp, containing pressurised vessel of water and a low pressure mist discharge head. It was intended for use in HMOs etc of high risk with vulnerable people. Dont know what came of it but it may be of use in a portacabin type structure.

Big problem is that there are no performance standards against which to assess them other then International Maritime Organisation but I beieve there are now some German test standards available.

I believe that Firetrace, or one of the other automatic fire extinguisher companies, made an over sized wet version of the systems that they use in engine rooms, walk-in fume cupboards and the like.  That might do the trick.
