Extrication Routes RTC

We have been teaching extrication on a longboard using routes 1 to 6, 1 being the prefered route roof off straight out the back with 2&3 at diagonals out the back 4&5 driver & passenger doors 6 out the front, these have cascaded through to us via instructors that have attended RTC courses at Morton and Washington Hall, however we cannot find these routes of extrication laid down in any manuals, dose anyone know where they come from? Is it just best practice an ism or has it come from the Ambulance Service? Answers on a post card.

Probably out of one of the many USA published Fire Rescue and EMS manuals as the current Basic UK Ambulance Manual is little changed in 40 years and there is only one serious attempt of a UK version of the US manuals for UK paramedics.
