Has anybody had a look at the draft BB100 yet? I've made a start but I'm struggling with the format. There's some good stuff in there but its written in a discussive way rather than as a guide for designers.

I'm in the process of going through it, there was a post about this earlier.

Yes I know. There was a lot of talk about school fire protection but none about the actual draft.

the fbu are having a couple of days loooking at bb100 and adb as a group of 'fire safety' bods! i may be able to let you have a look at the work though its unlikely to be ready until closer to the end of consultation dates

Wee B,

You've motived me to look through it again.   I'm having a bad day here, can anyone tell me where it details maximum compartment sizes and the degree of structural fire protection needed?

If it does then it is lost in all the words. But don't take my word for it.

Try Appendix C Construction as a means to contain fire. We put it all in there, Table C3 give max dimensions.

Thanks Penny.

I like the idea of BB100 but its hard to pick the guidance out from the commentary.

I still haven't finished reading mine either. We had a chat here a little while ago about their requirement for emergency lighting throughout.
