key operated fire alarm points.

Apparently Apollo who were manufacturing an addressable key operated alarm point no longer do so. Although another company make KOP 's they need an interface box and there is currently a 60 days wait for supply. Has anyone else had this problem or knows about it?

KAC make the  mcp's for Apollo.
Never knew apollo had them in their range.

I take it you need an Addressable mcp?

just checked with KAC's website and they still produce key switch & push button MCPs, but appear to be specials now rather than a standard stock item.

I knew about KAC but apparently they need a separate interface box to make them work.
The stopper switch looks interesting if they are addressable. I will look into it.

A well known nationally respected fire alarm co. tell me that addressable CP were made under the Apollo protocol

They are made for Apollo with their protocol added.XP95 or Discovery.
Their Beamsets are also made for them.They are Fire ray's with Apollo protocol.

The STI mcp will be non-addressable.

You can use these with an Addressable interface i.e Zone Monitor(ZMU) so you can have non-addressable devices on an addressable loop.Try it this way and you won't have to wait around weeks.

Never used one yet but (depending on the dimensions) you might get away with running your loop into the back box and fitting a mini switch monitor (with interrupt) in it.The keyswitch would then connect onto it with a 1K firing resistor and 20K EOL.

Nearly was!!The interupt switch monitor uses a standard 470/680 ohm firing resistence but still has a 20 K EOL .
The non-interupt uses the 1K firing resistor.

It is the best option.
The zone monitor can only comply with the response time for an mcp if the control panel is programmed to recognise the alarm flag.
The switch monitor with polling interupt will do this at default and will comply with the response time needed for manual call points.
The 20k eol is not a problem and most mcp's will have a standard 470-680 ohm resistor in series with the microswitch.

The non interupt is for monitoring volt free contacts i.e from sprinkers etc.
