BruceAlmighty/ Mickey, I would not pay to much heed to that DPC, not least because it is not a DPC.  Inadvertently,  what you will find is simply a list of changes, which might be of some interest, but it is NOT a DPC.  In fact, a DPC will be published in January.  You would be best to wait and read the proper DPC from cover to cover so you understand how the proposed new standard will read in its entirety.

Hopefully the website redesign will make reading DPCs less of an impossible chore by allowing more than a view of a tiny fragment of the text without the ability to cross reference. I never comment now, it's impossible and most former contributors I speak to feel the same. Complaints to BSI land on deaf ears. Why do they treat us with such contempt?

I'm hoping you get a response to your post Kurnal, there is a fair bit of concern that these things are a done job and offering up comments are a waste of time and effort...happy to be proven wrong this time however.

Bruce Almighty, Big Al is not saying that commenting is a waste of time because comments are ignored-that cannot happen provided you make a sensible proposal for the amendment, complete with wording and not just..... I think you should say more about blah blah blah.  He is saying the physical mechanism for commenting is very fiddly, so he cant be bothered with it.  I have a little sympathy with that.

Anyhow, I would not do anything Brucie until the DPC comes out and then read it cover to cover.

I receive he following email today, which could be relevent to this disscussion and says,

We want to let you know that this week, we will be launching a new Standards Development Portal which will replace the Draft Review website and will allow you to:

Search or browse by category to find standards relevant to you and your industry
Review and comment on draft standards and help shape their future
Discover and feedback on proposed standards as well as suggest ideas for new standards work

The Draft Review website will continue to exist into 2017 until all live drafts published on there have expired.

All my responses only apply to England and Wales and they are an overview of the subject, hopefully it will point you in the right direction and always treat with caution.

See they listened to Big Al.  Why does he treat BSI with such contempt?

BruceAlmighty, I have an update for you.  The new full version of the DPC went on the website yesterday.  You have until 1 March to comment.  I would encourage you to do so if you feel you want anything changed anywhere in the CoP, whether it has been subject to amendment in the DPC or has been there since Big Al was feeding 4 pennies into the phone box to send the stop message.  The entire code is open to comment.
