Fire alarm panel location
« on: June 18, 2020, 09:24:32 AM »
There was a note in BS 5839-1 2013 that more or less said, in buildings that don?t have 24/7 management, it?s a good idea to locate the fire alarm panel in a location that can be seen from outside by the attending fire service. The idea being that they may be able to determine if it?s a confimred fire before they kick the door in (I?m sure the BSI committee express this more eloquently).

This note doesn?t appear in the 2017 revision ? does anyone know why it disappeared?

Don't worry your knowledge and experience would only be wasted there - the other place is much more suited to your talents.

In November, I experience (maybe suffer is a better word) my 45th anniversary in fire safety. God will embrace me in heaven for the pain and suffering  of 45 years of dealing with firemen.
