Fishface, sadly just as you now get female body builders and airline pilots, you now get fascist aggressive female firemen. Did you know you cant use the word manhole any more, though a contractor only this week came to repair one in our private lane at goodness knows what cost.
I have to tell you though, Frankie that my urban street vocab was enhanced by two new words this week. Someone told me I am woke, which he advised me means alert to the injustices of society (who wouldnt be after 45 years of dealing with firemen and civil servants). Then a Borough Commander of LFB ( a surprisingly delightful chap) told me that my idea for a facility at a block of flats for the firemen was "Gucci" I had to ask one of his junior officers what the hell he was talking about and how to spell it ( I assumed Gutchi) but apparently it meant he loved my idea.
I am hoping to find an opportunity to include the words in an expert witness report sometime.
