Self Testing Emergency Lighting
« on: March 11, 2021, 09:36:22 AM »
I've been approached by a company regarding self testing emergency lighting.  Does anyone have any experience of this and if so, is there anything I ought to be aware of before considering it?

I've just realised that this should have been posted in the Q&A section. Apologies for that.

Self contained self testing systems or integrated systems with a central control & test panel?

There are many advantages and longer term cost savings with these systems if correctly implemented and it overcomes the issue of buildings without EL cover for a day after the 3 hour drain test as luminaires are tested at different times across the year so there will always be some cover.

Soon there will be addressable systems where your EL fittings & fire alarm components can share the same loop wiring & control panel.
