Hello friends
nobody`s asking, just something I`m thinking about, where there`s a call point, IF you`ve got a Fire Action Notice that gives bullet points and one of the Icon bullets is a call point image, Would you still install a dedicated Call Point sign as well  ???

The CallPoint sign is only a requirement if the callpoint itself is not clearly visible.

Such as if its on an edge at a right angle from the direction of travel or in a recess.

So regardless of the content of the Fire Action Notice, the signage may or may not be necessary.

If you are selling signage or have been to the signage manufacturers course on fire safety signs the answer is yes, despite call points being red & including a pictograph.

How easy is it to see and locate a call point based on distance & obstruction? If it's difficult (e.g. in a warehouse) a large high level sign may suit.

Fire action notices next to call points is a traditional thing dating back to the fire certification regime (if not earlier) but it seems logical still to place the two together.

As a matter of interest, when is the fire action notice beside a call point meant to be read and by whom?

The traditional theory seems to be that the person discovering the fire would be drawn to the call point by the sign, activate it and then consult the sign for their next steps.

Persons hearing the alarm, but not sure what to do would be able to consult the notice as by having them at each call point there were plenty throughout the premises for ready viewing.
