I am looking to update my general fire safety training course with some new video footage.
I have used the usual Bradford Fire & Front Room Fire videos as well as a few others as pointers within the sessions but would like to refresh these.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Make it festive and use the scotch pine fire

Thanks Piglet - yeah I use that one already - but folks get upset when the stuffed rabbit in the fore ground is engulfed in smoke!!

I think "Your Office Fire" by BRE is one of the best if rather elderly. Only available on VHS though.

Aerosol can going up one?

What about the Fawlty Towers fire drill? Or Keith Lard - always good for a laugh but maybe not always the most politically, or functionally, acceptable!

Old stuff can be converted to DVD and/or computer media files - but it is quite (very!) expensive, especially if from film, slightly lesser so with VHS.
Youtube has a host of things if you have the time to search and with the Firefox browser there is a free add-on that will neatly extract & convert the file...
Usual caveats about copyright apply!

There was a very good video used at the FRACS technical day of a shop fire, it was sent out to all who attended on disc, perhaps you might get a copy from someone who attended.

Some years ago, First Alert issued a 25-30 minute video called Plan To Get Out Alive. Despite being free of charge and American, it was very good. Not patronising, not over dramatised or overly sentimental. Just about right, and it went down very well with audiences. It featured a Chap Called Frank Field who is quite well know in fire safety circles in the states, and included interviews with people who had been involved in fires. Quite hard hitting but no disturbing or too upsetting.
I don’t know if it’s still available, if it is, it may look a little dated, but the messages will be every bit as relevant today as they were then. There was a British version made by one of the fire brigades some years after the FA/MCD version was issued, but it wasn’t anywhere near as good.
If anybody has a contact at First Alert or McD’s then I’d urge you to encourage them produce another film of similar content and quality. I’d certainly buy it.

The video you have referred to has been posted on Youtube (in 5 parts due to it's length) so electronic copies can be tracked down if required.
