Colin I think that I will take your tip about Bulgaria. Do you need a visa or will my FBU card do? I still have it in case I am ever asked to do any work in Merseyside or London. Yes I know that would be unlikely but it may happen. I also used to be a wholetime retained fireman. The men on the watch that opposed it did not have much time to discuss it before they went off to run their electrical, plumbing or undertaking business.

If the nasty looking immigration guy at Sofia airport gives you any grief, just tell him you are a pal of Davey, Ruthie and The Rack. They will get the brigade band to pipe you and her indoors all the way to your red limousine.

mr todd, they were indeed martyrs - deported then pardoned for organising themselves - i can assure you that there is no fbu intent for any firefighters to be deported - not even to bulgaria or aforementioned current home of the beckhams!

your knowledge of trade union history perhaps suggests trips to eastern parts futher afield than bulgaria, comrade! (or did you just listen at school! - in fact dont answer, i prefer my version of you at the knee of the chairman himself)

standards and professionalism - most strive to achieve the highest standards in whatever occupation they choose (or is chosen for us!) - a principle supported by the fbu rule book!

I did once go on a day trip to Kiev, if that counts. I have also visited Romania and  virtually all parts of the old Yugoslavia. That Tito was a boy. Took the money from the west and pretended to the Comrades of USSR that he was a good commie. You could do worse than model yourself on him, Davey, or have you done so already!

colinski, perhaps some more indoctrination is required lest your capitalist thoughts of betrayal (cos a good commie never betrayed anyone did they!) take over your socialist views comrade.

Ever since The Rack addressed me as brother I have become a full card carrier.
