L3/M
« on: November 24, 2008, 09:53:19 PM »
Since an L3 system should always incorporate the requirements of an M system I was under the impression that although correct L3/M shouldn't be stated as a category of system to avoid confusion.

Am I correct in thinking this or can an L3/M system actually be a combination of systems on a project e.g Multistorey car park requiring L3 in stairwells and M in the parking areas?

i might be wrong but if you are puting afd in a specific area it would come under M/L5

or would afd in the escape routes stairwells only come under L4?

There is no such thing really as L3/M for the reasons you stated.

The system has been specced as per my original post.

So it should really be classed as an L5 and not an L3/M as there is no such thing as an L3/M?
