I can only find one reference in the regs to these things and it isn't exactly clear.
The job has 3 "CCTV" cameras with this heat sensing technolgy etc (you may guess I've only read about it before !) that overlook a very large indoor waste silo.
The cameras and supplies are all fault monitored etc and I'm told, are fully compliant with regs, and are connected to the FA to produce different levels of alarm at varying temperatures.
The installer says this is all compliant for a P1 system, however, I was always under the impression these cameras are "supplemental" and the primary fire detection should be provided by AFD (point or beams) at ceiling level - which is about 30m up.
Are cameras on their own acceptable as a means of detection ?
