HMO Fire Safety
« on: May 17, 2006, 09:27:07 PM »
I am looking for a manual call point that I can incorporate into interlinked smoke detectors within an HMO. I don't want to use a contol panel within the property due to the potential of occupants disabling the system. I have tried a few manufacturers with no success as yet.

Does anyone know who can supply such a system?

Can't say I've ever heard of one.

I presume it would have to be mains and battery backed, or just batteries, or fed from the nearest detector??

It won't be fault monitored either.......?

... Just thought, you can get the "temporary" type sometimes used on building sites - a box with a manual call point on it that you can wire detectors and sounders into. Probably won't be compatible with existing linked detectors though...

there are several residental Pt 6 systems that can incorprate call points - BRK & Sensotec to name just two.

In the BRK system rather than a panel one of the call points is a 'master' but unless you give the occupants the function key then they can't disable it
