Hi there

I am interested in becoming a extinguisher service engineer anyone know any decent companys that dont mind training new people into the trade.

I have phoned up some companys and they are not interested unless people are qualified, this isnt any good for people wanting to get into the trade.

If you can spare the week the course isn't the most expensive around, the three trade bodies run them around the country all year, if thats what you really want to do you may have to save up & put the money in to do the course yourself, unless you can get some form of govt retraining grant.

Sadly, although in sheffield I don't really do extinguisher work often enough to  advise the bosses to take on a full timer, but am happy to advise.

Give me a shout if you are looking for another position Richard. No commission or incentives proves honesty is the best policy.

I was a service engineer as well. Would I go back, no. To many managers pushing you to hit sales figures....
