Not sure if it is going to be updated, by what you say there may be a newer version coming out. The supplied link mentioned Workplace Regs etc, so I would imagine the updated one will take into account RRFSO.

The new BB100 was supposed to be released to coincide with Approved Document B 2006 taking effect, but this has not happened to date. I have heard through the grapevine that it is likely to be well into May before it is released. If you are dealing with a building regs application, bear in mind the transitional provisions, which can be used to allow the previous version of Approved Document B to be adopted as an alternative solution until such time as BB100 is officially released.

Lets hope they dramatically improve on the draft, in my eyes it was "pants"

Apologies, it seemed to sum up my opinion at the time!!

Perhaps "in my opinion this document is both poorly laid out and prepared, and in addition does not seem to provide the technical expertise or information on relevant design considerations/issues one expects from this type of guidance" would have been more appropriate

In hindsight 'pants' is fine.

I shall personally campaign for this term to be integral in all areas of fire safety.

"Your alarm is not sufficient as it does not give sufficient warning due to the lack of detection in important areas."
"Your alarm is pants."

"This door is not FR30 and does not protect the staircase as would be necessary according to supplied guidance."
"This door is pants."

"This online risk assessment is not really suitable and sufficient. It does not go into enough detail considering the particular hazards present in this workplace."
"This online risk assessment is pants."

It would work for all areas of fire safety and would clearly save valuable printer ink, thus helping the environment and combatting global warming at the same time. I think you have stumbled onto something here.

Perhaps saddler has the start of a new system in line with all the other state codes now creeping in. Just think of everything in a numberical code. Means of escape state 1 meaning your means of escape are brilliant down to state 5 if you value your life be somewhere else. Just think of the time and money that can be saved!
