just one quick question, is the FRS in scotland ran and do the same work as english FRS,community work and things like that, if not then some info would be helpful

the short answer to your question is NO- the Scottish FRS are run more effeciently than our UK counterparts with a clearer enabling act (The fire scotland bill) and we do much more collaborative working with each other!

In Strathclyde we do not have the heavy heat resistent kilts but have adopted the mini kilt with a lovely pink piping to appease the gay pride faction!

Seriously, the ITOP (Initial Test of Potential) should be similar in most areas of the UK. I would advise you to post on here and ask for any assistance in relation to what sort of things are included in it.
If you are lucky enough to get an interview- make sure you read the literature sent out by the Service as the amount of people who do not even look at this is evident when they get asked questions on it!

Thanks for that, is there anywhere i could get a copy of the FRS in scotland PQAs?
and any tips for the application form...any help would be helpful and much appericated.
