Residential Care home Fire death Inquest

For information of FireNet Forum members

Details of an inquest following a fire in a Redcar care home are available in the news section of the internet.

This fire resulted in the death of one resident. Details are coming out of difficulties with the evacuation and what training was carried out. Also mentioned is references to the standard of roof cavity barriers and smoke detection within the roof.

Worth a look, use Google and enter Redcar Care home fire, It will bring up a number of agencies carrying reports, in particular the Northern Echo and TS10 Redcar.

Not sure if the inquest is finished yet but would be interested in obtaining a copy of any FRS report.
