Linking RF and mains powered existing alarm systems
« on: July 04, 2007, 12:09:32 PM »
Hi, I run a fire protection company in Devon and have a client that wants to supplement their existing hard wired system with an RF system of smoke alarms.  The RF manufacturer does not think it is possible.  Anybody?

It is alwys possible to run two seperate system side by side in some way by appropriate interfacing.

If your existing wired system is an Apollo XP95 protocol addressable system, Apollo have recently announced a new range of wireless equipment that interfaces by a loop-powered module.

When in the thread title you say mains powered fire alarm do you mean an old CP 1019 240V system? Or simply a modern hard wired 24V addressable or non-addressable system with a mains feed?
