Fire alarm cabling requirements.
« on: October 17, 2007, 12:51:34 PM »
I received the following question recently and I need advice can anybody help.

"I am arranging to install a new detection system in my 3 storey offices, I would like to rebate all cables into walls and floors (out of sight) can I do this with the fire resisting cable or would it require steel conduits or surface mounting to comply with the current IEE regs and BSs ?"
All my responses only apply to England and Wales and they are an overview of the subject, hopefully it will point you in the right direction and always treat with caution.

I would use steel conduit mate, Thats because if you have any problems you can at leased pull the cables out the wall without any damage.
