No Engineers Code For A Advanced Panel
« on: February 13, 2008, 09:01:58 PM »
I Have Just Started To Service A Brand New Fire Alarm System (advanced Panel) Which Was Installed By A Electrical Company Then Commissioned By A Fire Alarm Company Who Changed The Commissioning Code??? I Know For A Fact That They Do This To All Their Systems But The Company Who I Do The Work For Is Having A New Building Attached To This Building And Would Like The Fire System To Be Extended Into This One. Have Got No Problems With Other People Doing The Work But If Any Extras Need Doing How Can I Commission It Without The Code. Does Anybody Know How To Get Around This Or Should I Contact Advacnce Themselves.

I would contact either the company that commissioned the system or Advance themselves.

I had been in similar situation one day when asked advanced technical support they said you need to contact the commissioning company was in charge…., they have to supply the code or at least re-instate the system to its default code...

Advanced electronics Ltd can do it, but I do not think it can be free because they have to flash the memory completely and reprogram the system with the default manufacturer settings... then you have to re-commission it from the beginning…

The best way is, if the tenant contact the commissioning company who was in charge, and ask them the code. It’s their right to know the code as they had paid for...

There is a way of changing a modified level 3 password, it requires you to have the serial number and date of manufacture (from the main processor) inside the panel and getting a code from Advanced Tech Suppot.

Refer to the commissioning manual for further details.

when you try to enter commission mode enter 1 as the code.
It when then come back as code unknown.
press 0 and enter and it will give you an 8 digit code.

You need to call Advanced with this code and if the company has not registered it with them then Advanced should give you another 8 digit code that will get you into level 3.

Failing that and it is registered then you will have to get the previous company out to default the engineer code.

I concurr with the above.

Right, normaly removing the lithium battery for few seconds would delete all settings including the secret password, but do not do it, if you are not sure how to set all the rest back to normal :)

Very bad advice in my opinion.
