Zeta Fire Alarm Equipment
« on: June 12, 2008, 11:54:31 AM »
I came across one of these systems on a job recently. It had a Nexus fire alarm panel, with Zeta Fyreye detectors in almost all areas, but it aslo had some XP95's on the same loop.

I've never come across a panel that did that before. Surely they don't work together?

Has anyone had any experience of these panels? They are supplied by a distributor in Wales, called GLT Exports.

Ian ,
What you will probably find is that they work on the same meter bus protocol ,but the zeta doesn't have the additional xp95 'bits'. So pound to a penny they will probably show as a series 90.
So the answer to your question ,is yes.
Anything to do with XP95 is Apollo , so you cant trade on this however the original meter bus I believe was outside this remit , and possible within common domain.
Its time to make a counter attack !

Ian, I believe Nexus is a Control Equipment panel and therefore, reinforces my theory that the Zeta detectors are compatible with XP95. As Galeon says it might only be as S90 devices. You should be able to add XP95 devices onto this system with no problems.

GLT in Swansea do the Zeta detectors, Apollo for XP95 and Control Equipment in Dudley for the Nexus Panel.

Oh I know where to get XP95's and CEL equipment, although I didn't know that CEL made Nexus (they were still doing Preludes last time I had any dealings with them), I'd just not come across the Zeta gear before and was amazed to see it working on the same loop as XP95's.

Anyway, it's coming out.
