If its that critical I would have thought an aspirating system would have been more approriate for very early warning. This could be tied in to a coincidence system or simply used as a stand alone system.

A really radical thought might be to install a water detection system (if suitable for the liquid obviously) that could be used to disable the extinguishant release if activated first....
