Well that’s the application form sent anybody else out there applied?  And can anybody answer how a Brigade knows if you've applied for more than one at a time.  I asked a guy from London and they’re policy is your allowed to apply for as many as you like they don't take it into consideration.  So there isn't a national consensus on the issue.  Anyway fingers crossed.

That's cutting it fine! The closing date is today (25/07/08). I've applied and am also at the practical stage with West Mids. Not sure if there is a way for them to know, but i haven't seen an application form that doesn't ask if you have or are applying else where so if you don't tell the truth you could be shooting yourself in the foot at a later date.

I've just applied to them as well and have also got a form off for Hampshire earlier on the year.  Am still waiting to hear from them but they said it was likely to be nearer September before I'm might hear anything.  I agree with Frank6912, if you have applied else where and don't mention it and they find out, you could be doing yourself more harm than good.  Don't know how true this is but i've been told that they haven't got a way to find out if you have applied else where or not yet but honesty must be the best option.

Good luck guys anyway with your application(s).

I submitted my application last week with GFRS. Having put a great deal of time and effort into this application. I was    dissapointed that the GFRS wouldnt be sending unsucessful applicants a courtesy letter and leave them in wonder upto the 22nd of September. Commitment to excellence could be improved upon.

Hiya,

I sent an SAE and received it back on Friday.  I sent my application last Tuesday next day delivery though, so it might depend on when you sent it.  Here's to the good old waiting game again!!!

Hi,

Anyone has anyone heard from the GFRS regarding the next stage of recruitment?

Hi,

I've not heard back yet.  I'm thinking it might take a while for them to get back to successful candidates though.  At least they have told us that we should hear by 22nd Sept if we are successful.  Better than not having any date at least.

I received confirmation that GFRS have received my application but nothing regarding if they’ve accepted it or not.

Hi all.  I plan to travel to Severn Park Training Centre by Train on the day.  Just wondering how far the facility is away from either Bristol Parkway or Bristol station and if it is feasible to get a taxi from either station.  Thanks.

It's a bit of a hike out to the training centre, guess it'd be £20 ish in a cab. St Andrews Road seems to be the closest station, not sure how good the connections are from Temple Meads though.

Well done wyngwili on getting shortlisted.  I also got shortlisted but had to pull out due to external reasons and am gutted.  Good luck with the NFA and NFQ tests, and let us know how you get on.
