Got hold of a '99 Nu Swift 6 litre like the below
removing it from an office I was auditing as it hadn't been touched for years and was excess to requirements.
I was going to use it for discharge during training (some people have these and it's not appropriate to have them use a seize and squeeze if all their kit back at their premises is strike knob), but found that during safety checks before servicing it was pressurised, despite having pin & seal intact. The strike knob was seized in the up position, but was able to empty it with the nozzle control.
I took it apart and the knob was truly seized and took a lot of oil and rubber hammer to free up. The brass seal on the cartridge was green with oxidisation and it appears it spontaneously burst and self pressurised.
Problem is I can't refill it - it's got a funny cartridge. I know in the 1980's the traditional drop in charge was replaced with French sicli cartridges (due to the merger), but also in the mid 90's they went to the standard British
cartridge - this is neither and so isn't in any of the trade catalogues. it appears to be German or Scandinavians based on the markings.
Does anyone have any of these cartridges or know of a supplier (other than Nu Swift) - they don't have to be in date as they are for training discharge only. Otherwise it's in the bin for it.
(As it is under 10 years old I was tempted to invoke Nu Swifts guarantee, but it requires that they have been servicing it)
