No doubt you lads have seen numerous installation of the 240v supply to the panel(s)  , 240 v door mags in red soft skinned cable / micc , what is your view on a red sheathed cable having 240 v on it ?
Its time to make a counter attack !

That would be under 26.2 section o) All fire alarm cables should be of a single common colour that is not used for cables of general electrical services in the building, to enable these cables to be distinguished from those of other circuits, the preffered colour is red.

As long as the cable is rated and the relevant warning signage is on the equipment it shouldnt be a problem.

Or am i missing your point?

I thought 240V door mag. are no longer used, only 24Vdc ones are permitted!

Never heard of it. I suspect it is rumour or chinese whispers.

I am confused then guys, I my self replaced the 240Vac ones with 24Vdc about 4 years ago .....but I can't remember who said they have to be replaced due to what so ever...

Probably my microprocessor needs to chose, either upgrade or early retirement, I may have to look for a cheap made in China one, to carry on the remainings ... :)
