WATER and FLOOD RESCUE
« on: October 27, 2008, 04:19:36 PM »
Hi all,
I`m in the process of writing a dissertation for a course, my chosen topic is the use of Non governmental organisations/outside agencies (volunteer rescue teams) in the emergency/rescue stage of flooding incidents.

Ive obviously gone through the "pitt report", "facing the challenge review" and all the emergency, rescue and fire magazines with a fine tooth comb and got some good information.

However i would love lots more info including your own views and that of your brigades or organisation;

What provision has your brigade made with regard to Training, PPE, Equipment (Boats)?

Does your Brigade have a MOU outside agencies for flooding incidents, i.e volunteer rescue teams.?

has or would your brigade consider the above?

What is your own personnel view on the use of volunteer rescue teams to complement Fire service in flooding incidents?

I would also love to look at/have any water rescue training packages/syllabuses if anyone has any they wouldnt mind sharing.

Thank you for your anticipated help.
