Hello everybody.

My Names Mark.

I am a self employed electrician .

I decided last year that i wanted a career change and studied for the NEBOSH National certificate in fire safety and risk management, which i passed in July this year.

I am looking for work in the fire safety sector on a full time, part time or subcontracted basis.

I live at Preston Lancashire. If you feel you can help please drop me a line. I am very approachable and always interested in an informal chat.

Regards

Mark

Welcome along Mark.

Wish you well with your job search.

Don't know of anything specifically available at the moment but my advice is to keep an eye open for jobs with your local NHS Trusts, Primary Care Trusts, universities and colleges. They all tend to employ full time fire safety officers.

Also try places like airports, large industrial sites, as they may also employ fulltime fire safety professionals too.

And even if they don't have anything available straight away they might take your details to keep on file and because the profession is fairly close knit, and most fire safety officers belong to some form of association  they may know someone who is looking to employ a fire safety officer !!!

Finally keep an eye on  your local fire service websites. Many employ "civillian" (horrible phrase) inspecting officers, alot of brigades arent recruiting at the moment due to the credit crunch, but you never know. Keep looking!

Hope that helps - good luck!
