« on: August 02, 2005, 04:35:16 PM »
A client has advised me that the fork lift truck has arrived with the Draft for Res Care.
Does anyone know where to find on the net?

I believe it is now part of the new draft part B of the building regulations. The link is below:

 http://www.odpm.gov.uk/stellent/groups/odpm_buildreg/documents/page/odpm_breg_039142.pdf

If the link doesn't work due to my incompetence go to the ODPM website and do a search for "draft building regulations".

The res care part starts on page 57ish

Steve/David

The link takes you to part of the consultation package for Part B of the Building regs.

This is not the same as the RR(FS)O guides which are not subject to the same consultation procedures and so don't get put on the web.

As David points out there are some proposals for the design of care homes in the Draft ADB but this is all very much up in the air.

If you want a simpler link for the Part B review go to www.bre.co.uk/adb this has links to all the relevant documents all on one page.

.......because we ODPM chaps are not interested in the broad church of user's opinions on the Guides, just the docs that suit us to put out for comment.

Thanks for the response . Having gone back to my client it appears that as a stakeholder in the care sector they have been sent a copy of the draft guide in connection with the RRO for comment.
I understand that its a substantial document not easily easily copied unless someone knows different.

All the draft guides are/will be substantial. The wee old dearie running a res care establishment will be expected to read about 130 pages I imagine.
