Gent Vigilon problem
« on: July 01, 2013, 07:53:12 AM »
The request below has been posted on behalf of new member Lalu pk. Lalu- have you tried the fire engineers forum? http://firealarmengineers.com/forum/

I am fire alarm engineer assigned to maintain a gent vigilon 6 loop system. One of my technician accidentally short circuited a loop and to remove the fault he restarted the panel by completely powering down the system. After restart it seems all of the device label is missing and the device is wrongly addressed in the panel. Is there any way to recover the original data from the panel( data downloaded while commissioning) manually from the panel? Now i have backed up the data( into NVM) available with the panel as i feared it might be also lost.

Please help as i did not received any support from my supplier. The site is very critical and i have 95 devices in the loop.

Most people on FAE would point out that if you are not a Gent SI that it can be very dangerous to tinker with them (even if you are competent with systems in general) and the best solution in this case is to call in a Gent SI to sort it assuming you are in the UK
