CFPA Europe Stage 2
« on: November 07, 2013, 10:26:45 AM »
Hi there, just enlisted for the CFPA Europe part 2, I have completed part 1, did OK there, found it very interesting. This made me want to further stretch myself, so here I am, I have just received the 8 modules for the second part, there is a lot to be getting on with.
Has anyone on here completed or is on the course at the moment, any pointers from the forum would be a great help, hope I’ve not bitten off more than I can chew…

No chillbay this section is fine. Dont think many have tackled CFPA Eu, thats the problem. I know Piglet has done it , if he happens to look in. And I am very interested in your experience.  I am looking for a pathway to bring a young graduate with no fire safety background whatsoever into the business and was wondering if CFPA may be one way forward?

Hi Kurnal, thanks for reply, I am signed up because I have done my past courses with the FPA and they seem a helpful bunch whenever I have had cause to contact them.
Stage 1 was good, I messed up because I was going through some personal problems and I hadn’t read the joining instructions properly (my own fault). Come exam day I had been reading up on everything we had gone through in the 5 days, every night spent studying , didn’t realise the exam just covered the risk assessment which you have to carry out on the Friday.

I’m not ashamed to admit I failed the exam 1st time round! 2nd time round a few weeks later a got top marks, I guess I had a bit of an advantage, I knew what was expected. But I think the time I did spend studying wasn’t in vain.

So to stage 2, I have only received the paperwork last week so still getting my head around it all. If there is a lesson to be learnt though, it is to fully read the pre-course detail, and ask question after question until you are happy until you fully understand what is expected. I will be picking a subject out of the 8 sections, the one I am most happy with to start with, just to get me into the zone so to speak.

Will update you as I go if you wish, Piglet should be better placed to give you feed-back really as he has completed it?
