FIRE & SAFETY LAW

Course Outline:
   Legal framework of industrial safety law
   Specific fire law, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and associated guidelines
   High hazard safety law
   Manslaughter, Corporate Manslaughter and Negligence law in relation to safety and fire [/li][/list]

The course is directed by Professor Gordon Andrews with guest speakers.

FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT & MANAGEMENT (by e-learning over a ten week period)
Monday 13th January - Friday 21st March 2014
With this distance learning course you will gain knowledge of risk assessment concepts, techniques and the data required for an evaluation of fire risk in most buildings/facilities.  
Course Outline:
   An introduction to risk management
   Qualitative fire risk assessment
   Semi-quantitative fire risk assessment (points scheme & matrix methods)
   Quantitative fire risk assessment (probabilistic)
   Full quantitative fire risk assessment
   Frequency analysis
   Consequence analysis
   Risk-informed decision making
