silver wet chemical extinguishers

I am struggling to find a silver wet chemical F55 or F70 for a very particular client. The only one I could find had a black label! Now I don't mind stretching the point for the silver body but it should at least have the correct yellow label. Can you imagine the training implications of a black label on a silver extinguisher.....

If anyone knows of a supplier I would be very grateful to receive the heads up - a personal message might be best in line with forum rules!

Sorry Kurnal this will not help you.

You can get polished stainless steel, water, foam, powder and CO2 extinguishers however almost all wet chemical extinguishers have stainless steel bodies with chromed brass fittings. then they paint them red and do not provide a polished version WHY is there a technical reason or is it supply and demand?

Do you need wet chemical? Many water mist extinguishers have higher 'F' ratings and may be easier to get in chrome.

The original wet chemical extinguishers were all unpainted stainless steel, the Amerex, the original Chubb & Kidde Thorn Fry Fighter (based on a US Badger water extinguisher) and the Britannia FCC Foam.

Water mist is f rated, but only in red steel cans from the 3 main manufacturers (Jewel, FireBug, SFFECO).

I can see two options, neither cheap:
- Get a 'special' from Amerex where they import an unpainted US Wet Chem model B260 and see if they would put a UK label on it (the US has a green colour code band and refers to class K)
- Ask Britannia Fire if they will manufacture a special.

Check Fire might be able to assemble you a Commander one using the 6 litre water/foam stainless can, filling with WC, fitting the lance and a suitable WC label, but of course there may be fire rating/approvals issues with all these options.

Supply & demand is why you don't see polished WC any more, it's probably the least sold type as it is

Thanks everyone , I guess that settles it - he will have to accept red. I don't like silver, throughout this new building the client wants silver cylinders and silver metal tubular stands, to my eye they look awful and unfinished!

A bit late sorry.

Just make sure the tubular stands support the exringuishers. Some have a vertical piece fitted to provide support as the originals had the brackets welded on i.e. the 6/9lt units on the unsupported side so the heavier unit had no option but sit on the unsupported side.
This automaticaly overbalanced the stands.
I visited a client once with about 8 stands in their reception corridor - posh seating, little ponds, lovely flowers no expence spared and all the stands were overbalanced with 9lt waters on the unsupported sides.
So i pointed this out to their Facilities, the client wasn't too impressed as they ran a H&S Lab in Buxton.......
Since then, the manufacturers were advised to change the design or fit supports.
