I have a client with a 3 bedroom HMO with ornate original features. He would like interconnected wireless smoke detectors without any control panel. Anyone any suggestions?.

Graeme,
Wireless systems are availible to BS 5839 part 1 & part 6.
I assume your cosy little HMO is on two floors and the system may be protecting housing units and common areas therefore a part 6 system may do the trick.
Take a look at BS 5839 part 6, table 1
You will need to think about the way the building is occupied and managed to decide if you need one system or a common areas system and systems in the units.
I would suggest that a system without central control may be inappropriate.
