Littlewoods Fire, 1993
« on: June 10, 2015, 01:00:15 AM »
Does anyone have a copy of "Investigation into the fire at Littlewoods Store, Market Place, Chesterfield on the 7th May, 1993"?

I'm after a copy or scan for research purposes, the British Library search system isn't helping, so I am running out of options!

Hi Anthony I've a paper from David Purser "Quantification of Behaviour for engineering design standards and escape time calculations" that goes into a bit of detail on the fire as he did a lot of research into the incident; I could send you that if you PM me your email.

I have a rather poor photocopy of the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service's report - it is 73 pages long. The colour pictures, mostly taken by myself and fellow FRS colleagues, don't show up very well in b/w. If you can get a copy with the colour pictures all the better.

If you have any particular query, send me a PM.

Thanks ,I assume you would have to go to the FSC Library in person? I tried the British Library as they will reproduce anything they have (in full if required) and send you a copy, I've used that before although it's a pricey route!

You don't have to go to the FSC, just go to your own library and request that it be sent over from the FSC so that you can borrow it from your library.  That's how it used to work before Capita, and still does I believe.  I don't think there are any cost implications.
