'Built in' door mats in outside flat front doors

See links below.  If the local authority wanted to fit these, is there really a problem?  What standard would they have to meet for the purpose of fire safety, if any?

Personally I don't see a problem at all from a fire safety point of view.

If you are feeling penicity ask how it stands with:

EN ISO 9239-1:2002 ? 'Reaction to fire tests for floorings. Part 1: Determination of the burning behaviour using a radiant heat source'.

In the UK we don't tend to control the reaction-to-fire performance of flooring materials (with the exception of fire-fighting stairs).  No issue provided that they don't run under any F/R doorsets.
