Fire Incident Report
« on: August 10, 2017, 10:31:03 AM »
Post fire, is there any benefit for a fire risk assessor in asking the RP to obtain the fire incident report, or is the RP's honest explanation as to the cause of the fire sufficient?

I would say you would get more info from the client on the fire than you will get from the fire report. As to whether you believe them? Depends on how close their eyes are together.

I always ask the Fire Service for a copy of the report when ever the Brigade attend a fire in one of the buildings I manage or have a connection to (just to note fires in my buildings, or near misses, are not a regular occurrence). Very useful for time lines, number of appliances that attended and what they actually did. These reports are not fire investigation ones - they may allude to the cause or seat of the fire but they probably won't be definitive.
