don't go for the chop Paul. I reckon Colin would see through the wig and deep voice.

A bit of Brut and a hair cut will do nicely.

We would consider other parts of country but we have a need for at least one of the new people to be in the south.

Colin

I think you may be excluding some potentially very good consultants by not accepting those who have gained their experience principally through LFEPA. It's a bit like saying all Scots are exceptionally careful with their money. You can't tar everyone with the same brush.

I think there are many ex LFEPA staff who recognise their shortcomings and are very willing to learn.

Shaun, We dont have time for them to learn. They will be required to do CPD, but that is to keep up to date. We need people able to hit the ground running, and who have received suitable training and experience. One may not be able to say that all Scots are mean (though trust me, we are!), but one may comment on the nature of the Scottish education system (which as you know is better than that in England).

Graeme, I will be at the (real) fire service college presenting a fire risk assessment course in December for 3 days. Want to buy me a drink in the fleshpots of Gullane, or we could go mad and go to North Berwick.

The course runs 14, 15 and 16 December. We normally drink with the delegates in Gullane or North Berwick.

The Scottish Education system may be better but who would know? Nobody can understand the language.

It does work both ways though Shaun.  I can assure you, if you try giving a presentation to an audience in Glasgow, the guys there appear to have the same problem with my perfectly spoken Mancunian.
