Does anyone know where I might obtain an uncut version of the TV footage of the Bradford City Football Stadium Fire please. Like an idiot I loaned my copy to someone who now claims to have lost it.

If you do have an unedited copy of the Bradford City fire is there any chance I could get a copy? - the VHS tape on mine is worn out. I've tried to burn it to my hard drive/DVD but the tape is too distorted to play view in any bearable form. your help would be appreciated:)

I am doing a presentation for a local council to enhance their awareness of their role as responsible persons. The H&S manager wants to shock them in to action as presently they are not taking fire safety issues seriously.Most of the people are office based so has anyone got a copy of a DVD showing either a fire in an office or the Bradford stadium Fire or something as shocking they could help me out with? Any help would be most appriciated!

The Bradford fire video catches peoples attention to be sure, but one of the best videos/ DVDs for teaching people about the nature, growth and hazards of a fire is " the/your office Fire" by the BRE- its available on their website and is well worth the £45 or so - in my opinion.
This viedoe runs 10 minutes and shows a room based fire developing in real time from start to flashover in about 4 minutes. There no commentary for the first 4 minutes so you can talk through the fire growth and hazards with the viewers.  It then runs through the fire again, pointing out key issues and making recommendations.

Although very old school and nearly 30 years old a film 'Fire & Smoke' is very good too. Has footage of Sao Paolo & Woolworths Fires plus some interviews with neighbours & relatives post domestic fire incidents (fatal). It is hard hitting & where appropriate graphic (without being gratuitous) & is memorable for it's fire door, smoke spread, flashover & backdraft lessons illustrated by the cardboard model factory with Paddington-esque paper cut out persons & scenery.

We still use it now & then as have had it turned into an .mpeg file from the VHS

 It sounds like the type of films that would draw attention and educate  without frightening the life out of the council staff..It seems that the training market has removed the shock value from training films as most are pretty safe.Although when confronted with a fire situation its anything but!

Certainly not for the faint hearted, but has anyone seen 'The Station' nightclub fire video!  If shocking is what you want, it's the video for you!  Personally, I would only show this clip to a very selective audience!!

I have not seen this video before, but by the sounds of it maybe its at the top end of the shock spectrum! Still a good one for the library though.

The worst I've ever seen was called When Children Play With Fire. Truly appalling.

It was a real incident in Staffs I think, why a camera crew happened to be on scene at the incident I don't know but the footage is harrowing, enough said.

Is that the video of the house fire where two kids died - if its the one I'm thinking of every fireman in the room watching it had tears in their eyes - was truly horrific and still haunts me to this day.

It maybe a bit too much to show to clients in a fire presentation (perhaps) but there's no doubt it would get a very strong message across if they could see it.

It's reasonably widely circulated & was used in a Channel 4 documentary some years ago. I recorded my original copy of the footage when it was first   shown as one of the fire officers on the program who voice0overed the scene, Dick van Stratten, was teaching me on my instructors course a few weeks prior and advised everyone to record it for use (naughty I know)telling us not only the date & time of the broadcast, but that the sequence was just after the second advert!

It is genuine CCTV of a Threshers, but is not a bin fire. It shows 2 young kids attempting to steal from the shop, one of them lighting a piece of paper and throwing it into a sweet display rack as a distraction. Unfortunately it doesn't plan out as everyone sees the fire and ignores it for several minutes!

Which carefully for the shop assistant who tries to use an extinguisher and wonders why it doesn't put the fire out when a) she doesn't remove the pin; b) has the discharge horn pointed at her face after she eventually finds the pin, pulls it and squeezes! & c) is using a 1.1 kg CO2 on a Class A fire (presumably cause the shop's 9 litre water extinguisher is too heavy).

Also the 'good samaritan' near the end who instead of continuing the fight against the fire nips out the back and nicks two bottles of scotch!
