Large scale mobilising

In the aftermath of Buncefield I have noticed a lack of recognition of the work done by control room staff in mobilising & supporting the troops at this job.
I say WELL DONE to them all, they did a magnificent job.
Much has been written about the alleged shortcomings of Herts, (lack of adequate equipment, training, etc) & the general response has been "How do we train for a 20 tank fire"  surely the same comments must also apply to mobilising on such a large scale, what FRS has systems in place to cope with such a large incident, would even the LFB have managed without outside help?
How long before 2 Jags uses this in support of his Regional control rooms policy, would he be right, would a regional control have handled mobilising better?  I don't know

Good point. Everyone in the fire service knows that regional control rooms will be a huge step backwards, I think a job like this proves how individual brigades cope very well under the strain.
