Fire risk assessors required
C S Todd & Associates Ltd is one of the UK's longest established and leading fire safety consulting practices. For many years, the practice has led the way in drafting much of the guidance, codes and standards used by fire safety practitioners. The work of the practice is very varied, ranging from carrying out fire risk assessments to producing guidance and codes, some fire strategy work for major clients, expert witness services and general ad hoc advice on fire safety matters for clients.
Role Description
Because of constant increase in workload, we require two additional fire risk assessors to work as part of the highly successful and friendly team. This is a full-time home based role as a PAYE employee of the practice. The Fire Risk Assessors will be responsible for conducting fire risk assessment for a wide range of premises, providing advice on fire safety measures, and ensuring that clients comply with fire safety legislation. Those with proven training skills may also deliver training.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a fire safety specialist, whether in an enforcing authority, consulting practice or in-house within a corporate body, preferably for at least eight years.
Excellent understanding of fire safety legislation and supporting guidance, including relevant British Standards.
Familiarity with fire safety risk assessment methodologies and techniques
Excellent report writing and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively
Remuneration package
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience but, on average, is within the upper quartile of salaries within our field. A company car is provided as part of the hybrid fleet consistent with our environmental policy.
