New Service Company

Hello Everyone,

I am in Ireland and worked in the UK on installs for many years. I am trying to Start up a service company here and am looking for ANY advice that anyone may have. I know allot of the Technical Stuff but have no expierience in Service Contracts or anything like that. Need to know how much an average system costs each year to service etc. But any Info would be greatly appreciated.

I think you are going to have to provide a lot more information on what you are asking before anyone can help you.  What sort of systems do you seek to service?  It is the expectation of most stakeholders that systems designed to protect life or property be serviced by competant contractors.  This is easily established by third party approval.  Does your organisation have any such approvals?

Im afraid we are going into this having never done servicing at all as a company. But i have done plenty myself.
We have no customer base and are looking to get new customers from Installers who do not do servicing. There is allot of that here.

We are all technically astute but have no dealings with the servicing industry so any help would be great.
As a service company is there any certificates that i should have to set up. Or is there any that are desirable to have.
We are going to try to get a customer base but need to know how much we can charge for a yearly Routine Service.

I respectfully suggest that finding out how much you can charge is unlikely to be a good starting point for a  successful business plan. I suggest you contact your local chamber of commerce, business link or similar organisation in Ireland. They will be able to help you identify your costs, overheads, Insurance, the likely markets, any technical skills needed and advise you on start up costs and business planning. And best of all, if like in the UK their services are free.
