Yes, but mostly never to employ ex officers of LFB, which remains company policy.

I am loving the insertion of the word 'mostly' Colin. Go on, admit it, that this there to give you a means of escape in case I ever come knocking with my CV isn't it?  ::) :o

Grey Ham, when did it change to Bro??? Should I now drop bruv from my vocabulary or is it still accepted urban slang.

Messey: recruitment@cstodd.co.uk is the address you will need, but your cv is likely to be filtered from onward transmission to me if the word London appears anywhere in it. I would suggest you just refer to employment by a large metropolitan FRS in a capital city though not that of Scotland, NI or wales. In the covering letter, say you want to join us to receive proper training for the first time in your fire safety career. We are so overloaded at the moment that we might give you a telephone interview, but do remember not if the word London appears in your cv. Mention Scotland, even if it only to say you once went there on holiday with Mrs Messey and the Kids and enjoyed the warmth of the welcome to someone so unworthy of the hospitality.

.  a Borough Commander of LFB ( a surprisingly delightful chap) told me that my idea for a facility at a block of flats for the firemen was "Gucci"  I had to ask one of his junior officers what the hell he was talking about and how to spell it ( I assumed Gutchi) but apparently it meant he loved my idea.

As you have demonstrated Colin, There's always something to learn when you hob nob with officers from the finest fire brigade in the UK  ::) ::)
I used to learn a lot from you fellas but this forum seems to be far too easily diverted from reasonably serious discussion on fire safety matters in favour of the futility of badinage. I thought there was a particular topic area on the forum set aside for those who felt the need to talk crap.
