NEW EDITION OF BS 5839-1
« on: March 30, 2013, 01:11:49 AM »
The new 2013 edition is now published. I hope to have my book on the code published in around six weeks. An autographed copy will be available to Kelsall at no extra charge after that time.

Oh well fine, you know he'll rip the page out and have it on ebay as a genuine autograph from one of the most influential people in fire and security.

Bought one today. Must remember to change the 2002 in all future specifications.

Interesting tack taken with regard to documentation and all the various degrees of responsibilty. Nothing much of a change there but I often wonder why massive electrical installations can have certification committed to one document that embraces design, construction and inspection and testing. Thus verification will normally be left with the person responsible for the latter. It is therefore necessary that this person has a full understanding of BS7671 2008, is aware of design details, specifications and is on site at sufficient intervals to ensure that the system is properly erected. It is a good system that avoids exessive paperwork and crucially ensures that disparate parties attend to their responsibilities. Strange how BS's often cant be standard!

Is that a free copy Colin? Please sign it; ‘To my good pal kelsall’

Piglet

I will wait till he is dead before selling; it will be worth more! Not as much as the book costs but still a signed copy of a Colin Todd book would be worth a penny or two. Literally!

It would be worth a lot more if it was the only copy however I dare say Colin will have his own signed copy on his own bookshelf made out;

To my greatest fan Colin, thanks for always agreeing with me!

All the best!

Colin

Sorry Colin but you just keep teeing me up!  ;)

Always free for you, Kelsall. As a salesman for a CB, I am sure you will find it useful to learn something about the stuff you are selling.
